Stohlquist Fisherman PFD

The Stohlquist Fisherman PFD is a Type III life jacket built specifically for anglers who spend long hours on the water in kayaks, canoes, or small fishing boats. Designed with a low-profile, high-back cut, it accommodates the raised seat backs common in fishing kayaks while still delivering the buoyancy and security paddlers expect from a quality personal flotation device. The foam panels are shaped to allow a full range of motion through the shoulders and torso, so casting, paddling, and reeling in a catch never feel restricted, and the breathable mesh back panel helps keep anglers cool during extended sessions under the sun.

What sets this PFD apart in the fishing and paddling world is its abundance of purpose-built storage. Multiple zippered pockets, including a large front tackle pocket, give anglers a place to stash lures, tools, and small gear within easy reach, eliminating the need to paddle back to a cooler or tackle box mid-fight with a fish. Front-mounted attachment points let users clip on pliers, a net, or a retractable lanyard, while the overall layout keeps the chest area accessible without interfering with paddling strokes or casting motion. The adjustable side straps and shoulder closures ensure a secure, customizable fit across a range of body types, so the jacket stays put through aggressive paddling or sudden movement.

Constructed from durable, quick-drying materials, the Stohlquist Fisherman PFD is built to withstand repeated exposure to sun, saltwater, and freshwater environments without breaking down over time. The foam flotation meets US Coast Guard approval standards, giving paddlers confidence in its safety performance even as it prioritizes the functional needs of fishing. Reflective accents improve visibility in low-light conditions, an important safety feature for early morning or evening fishing trips. Altogether, this life jacket blends genuine safety engineering with angler-focused design, making it a trusted choice for kayak fishermen who refuse to compromise between protection and practicality on the water.
